Why move to Florida? #1 reason…no state income tax!

Move_to_Florida_

In a state-by-state comparison of property taxes, Florida ranks 22nd. However, that’s only half the story – it’s also one of the few states with no income tax. That means a New York State resident ( No. 1 in overall U.S. tax burden) that moves to Florida (No. 44 in overall tax burden ) saves money – and possibly a lot. Most Realtors promote the obvious Florida draws, such as the semi-tropical climate and abundance of beaches, but an explanation of Florida’s tax advantages may be the factor that closes your sale.

10 tips for Selling your Home

How to Sell your house

  1. Less is more – Remove some of the furniture to help your house appear more spacious. Store excess furniture in your garage or storage unit.
  2. Curb Appeal – First looks & impressions are vital. Keep your law and pathways maintained.
  3. Details – Replace outdated hardware on your cabinets or replace outlet covers for a new, updated look.
  4. Surprise – You may get unannounced interested buyers stop by when they see the For Sale sign in your yard. Keep your home clean at all times for these possible surprise showings.
  5. Get Unpersonal – Take down photographs on the fridge or mantel. They may cloud a potential buyer’s ability to picture themselves in the house.
  6. Fresh and Clean – Keep your home free from over-powering scents and smells. Pay attention to pet odors & clean the fridge regularly.
  7. First Impression – Make your front door and home entrance inviting – this will set the tone for potential buyers as they view the rest of the home.
  8. Repairs – Small home repairs need to be taken care of before you show the house.
  9. Keep it Neutral – Avoid extreme colors and themes. Neural colors leave buyers with less work to un-do if they buy the house.
  10. Closets and Drawers – Over-crowded closets may give the illusion that your home doesn’t have enough storage space. Make sure your closets and drawers are clutter-free.
